The Model was launched in 1996, affording private property owners the opportunity to buy property and participate in the dynamics of the tourism industry.
In 2016, 311 private owners with property to the value of R2 billion are participating.
Benefits include enhanced rental returns, hassle-free ownership and private occupation when required. The model is unique in that income is not pooled; each property is managed individually with incentive driven fees. Rentals are projected annually in advance and as a result of the Model, there could be an opportunity to claim the vat or transfer duty on the purchase price of the property. Notice periods are 6 – 12 months.
